How I created my vision
I started my first environmentally-motivated business in 1983, but wasted precious time working unrelated part time jobs to buy enough freedom to pursue my passion until it was self-sustaining.
In 1990, I co-founded a forest ecosystem NGO in Washington, DC, and we again faced the constant pressure of attempting to raise enough money to both live and do our work. But that also taught me that people love to support pioneers and visionaries.
In 2001, I set out to merge ecology and finance, and discovered thousands of people seeking to start businesses in that niche, but nearly all failing to comply with the narrow criteria of venture-style financing.
In over 25 years of pursuing this vision, I repeatedly attempted to launch recurring payment systems for business founders, but was limited by my skills and the available technology. Finally, those two factors converged, and the vision became possible to implement on a relative shoestring.
However, the main trigger was working with clients in South Africa, Cambodia, and Japan in 2024. I did not realize that most of the world was not plugged into the payment ecosystems we take for granted in the developed countries.
Seeing these clients struggle to pay their bills during their development stage, in January 2025 I set out to create a truly global platform so that my students could start raising money and building support communities from day one, Less than a year later, Make My Nut is the result.
Major Milestones
I have raised millions of dollars in my life, and quite a lot of that was for projects that failed due to the need for recurring income to sustain long development cycle of large-scale opportunities.
With Make My Nut, I decided to deliver a fully functioning application with only the monthly funding provided by a small group of initial supporters who signed up via the beta version of the platform.
Now I am using the live, multi-user version of Make My Nut to raise my own salary. From there, I aim to raise the salaries of a small management team in the same way.
Project Budget
My first stage is to grow my personal salary to $10,000 a month after taxes so that I can continue to develop the site and provide free mentoring to as many independent project founders as possible.
I aim to build a global community of 1000 leaders who can truly take responsibility for the countless challenges that have been left behind due to lack of a grassroots funding system like Make My Nut. Based on decades of experience training grassroots environmental and economic leaders, a community of this size can be built and managed by a small team.
With an eventual operating budget of under $1 million per month, the Make My Nut platform can grow steadily and support users for many generations to come, who together will guide trillions of dollars of future economic activity.
Except for memberships to Make My Nut itself, all of the money raised on this site flows entirely to the project developers, minus the bare minimum payment processing fees.
The site does not collect any commissions. Make My Nut is equal to every project here, raising its budget in the exact same way that I teach others.
Rather than profit from platform users, I teach them how to be “rainmakers” so that a new generation can use my best methods and Make My Nut to become independent leaders, businesspeople, and financiers.
