There are many people online teaching others how to make a living with small family farms. I want to leave my day job as soon as possible, and learn from them while I start growing crops full-time. I also want to document my own journey so that I can help others get healthier and start their own farms if they wish.
Our food system is dominated by a few large supermarkets and producers, driving up prices, reducing nutrition, and leaving many—especially in small towns—without access to healthy food.
Meanwhile, new farmers are eager to grow sustainably, but lack opportunities to reach local communities. I believe the solution is reviving small, family-based farms and creating direct-to-neighbor markets. Starting with my own farm, I aim to build a model others can follow, providing healthier, more affordable food while strengthening local communities.
I know farming is challenging, but with the right support and community, it’s possible to succeed. My goal is to build a network of at least 100 supporters who will help me leave my day job and farm full-time while documenting the journey on YouTube and creating an online hub for new farmers.
With this support, I will rebuild my family’s no-till homestead, share my progress to inspire others, provide resources and training, and grow a support network that empowers more families to produce healthy, local food.
My goal is to receive $2,000 per month in total membership payments so I can quit my day job and focus full time on the farm. In addition, I’ve set a $2,000 budget to purchase essential tools and supplies, for a total Year 1 budget of $26,000.
